Position: Operator

Department: Operations

Reports To: Duty Manager / Operations Manager

Wage: $18/hour

Summary: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the amusement ride and ensuring all loaders are in correct position and the ride area is clear and free of obstruction.

 

Other duties include:

  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Always ensures safety of all guests and staff.
  • Promotes a safe and positive team environment dedicated to providing excellent guest service.
  • Operates the ride from inside the Operator Control Console and manages the platform staff via two-way radio.
  • Maintains focus during the ride and manages the platform staff, ensuring all guests and staff remain in designated safe zones.
  • With the help of a digital program, decides when it is time to begin/end a ride and when new groups are to be loaded onto/off the ride and alerts Lead Loader accordingly.
  • Ensures gondolas remain balanced and no one part of the ride is too heavy/too light.
  • Monitors weather to ensure safety of guests and staff, as well as operational integrity of ride.
  • Performs opening/closing safety checks with maintenance team and completes necessary paperwork.
  • Ensures the platform is clear and free of hazard, debris, trash, or other impediments to safe operation.
  • Ensures loaders and lead loaders are fulfilling opening/closing cleaning duties and all necessary tasks have been completed.
  • Maintains expert knowledge of gondola mechanics to know when maintenance check is required and recognizes fixes without needing maintenance team.
  • Assists guests with disabilities or special requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Experience and Skills Required:

  • 2-4 years supervisory experience required
  • 1-2 years Hospitality, Tourism, Theme Park, or Attractions experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required. College education preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English Language required. Spanish language skills helpful.
  • Excellent communication, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills required. Must be able to articulate commands and remain calm in potentially stressful situations.
  • Must be able to supervise a team of at least 15 employees in a professional manner and recommend staffing changes to management.
  • Must be able to remain focused and alert during entire shift, which may last 8-10 hours.
  • Must be able to pass Operator training course, provided by GW management.
  • Must be available for a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age.
  • Basic computer skills.

Position: Lead Loader

Department: Operations

Reports To: Duty Manager / Operations Manager

Wage: $15/hour

Summary: Responsible for safely loading and unloading guests from the amusement ride and supervising other loaders on the platform. Serves as liaison between Operator and the rest of the platform staff.

 

Other duties include:

  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Promotes a fun and positive team environment dedicated to providing excellent guest service
  • Supervises loaders and groupers and relays information to and from the Operator, ensuring a safe and efficient loading process.
  • Ensures the platform is clear and free of hazard, debris, trash, or other impediments to safe operation.
  • Ensures loaders are fulfilling opening/closing cleaning duties.
  • Maintains working knowledge of gondola mechanics to know when maintenance check is required.
  • Handles guest complaints or questions in professional and knowledgeable manner. When unable to correctly respond, reports guest question to proper manager.
  • Maintains working knowledge of ticketing procedures and identifies VIP guests and other promotional tickets.
  • Assists guests with disabilities or special requests.
  • Checks gondolas after each use for spills or forgotten items.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • 2-4 years customer service experience required.
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years Hospitality, Tourism, Theme Park, or Attractions experience preferred.

Summary: The photographer/sales associate is responsible for taking, processing, and selling quality digital photos while delivering excellent customer service.

  • Responsible for site preparedness, stocking, cleaning, and organization.

Position: Ticketing Attendant

Wage: $15/hour

Summary: Responsible for selling and scanning tickets for the amusement ride while providing excellent guest service.

 

Other duties include:

  • Always adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Promotes a fun and positive team environment dedicated to providing excellent guest service.
  • Always adheres to all cash handling policies
  • Sells tickets through digital point of sale system, taking payments in form of credit cards or cash. Handles all transactions with discretion and professionalism.
  • Uses sales techniques to upsell and add-on to transactions.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the Ticket Center and Ticket Booth.
  • Handles guest complaints or questions in professional and empathetic manner. When unable to correctly respond, reports guest question to proper manager.
  • Scans tickets at entrance gate and directs guest toward appropriate stations.
  • Assists guests with disabilities or special requests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position: Maintenance Technician

Department: Operations

Reports To: Duty Manager / Operations Manager

Wage: $17/hour

Summary: Responsible for the overall upkeep and safe operation of the amusement ride. Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, makes necessary repairs to ride elements including gondolas, photo booth, and ride platform. 

 

Other duties include:

  • Always adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Always ensures safety of all guests and staff
  • Completes necessary maintenance checks, completing all relevant paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
  • Responsible for the daily maintenance of The Grandscape Wheel and building maintenance. 
  • Assumes a leadership role in case of emergencies such as power outages, inclement weather, and incidents. 
  • Identifies and resolves potential safety hazards.
  • Responds to maintenance requests from managers, supervisors, and operators in timely fashion and decides on best course of action to fix the problem.
  • Follows all GW handbook policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:

  • 1-2 years maintenance/technical experience required.
  • 1-2 years Hospitality, Tourism, Theme Park, or Attractions experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English Language required.
  • Able to climb up to 90 feet. 
  • Ability to operate power tools.
  • Professionalism, multi-tasking, and great communication skills required
